Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year at Pullman Elementary School! I am proud to introduce myself as your Principal, Douglas Stalnos. Here at Pullman, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that recognizes every student's unique potential. This year, we're especially excited to embrace our theme of "Making History Everyday," taking note that while we are embedded within a historic community, our students are writing their own stories of success.  With our high-quality, rigorous, and relevant instruction, we know that students will leave each day having learned something new.
We take pride in building strong community connections through relationship building, extracurricular enrichment opportunities, and welcoming parent input. To ensure all students’ needs are met, both academically and socially, we prioritize a restorative learning environment where every child knows they have multiple trusted adults to talk to if they are feeling like they need extra help. As a Personalized Learning school, we ensure that each student's unique needs and interests are met, both inside and outside the classroom.
Our vision is to set the standard for academic growth within Chicago Public Schools. Through our unwavering commitment to engaging instruction, elevating all voices, personalized learning experiences, and offering unique opportunities through our after-school programming, Pullman's students will become critical thinkers, confident leaders, and enter the global society ready to excel.
At Pullman, we place a high value on the partnership with our parents. We encourage and welcome your input as we firmly believe in the power of collaboration and view parents as essential allies in shaping a nurturing, supportive educational experience for our children. Parents are welcome to join us as volunteers in this journey of growth and student centered experiences. Together, we can create a vibrant educational community that inspires lifelong learners. I invite you to reach out to me personally with any ideas you have for the school or any concerns you might want to discuss. Your involvement and feedback are pivotal to our success and growth.
I’m also incredibly proud of our outstanding and experienced staff, who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care and education for every child. Their passion and commitment is the soul of our school and they are the reason for success.
Thank you for being a part of our Pullman family.
With gratitude and commitment,
Principal Douglas Stalnos
