Welcome to the 2025–26 school year at Pullman Elementary School!
It is with great pride that I continue serving as your Principal for a second year. Last school year, we committed to building strong community connections, prioritizing a restorative learning environment, and elevating every student’s voice through personalized learning. I am proud to share that we made significant progress—our students embraced rigorous and relevant instruction, our after-school programs expanded with new enrichment opportunities, and families worked alongside us to create a stronger sense of belonging at Pullman through volunteering and working in our classrooms. We also made significant academic gains that were recognized by Network 13 as some of the best in their group of schools. Additionally, our attendance improved from 89% to 91% - a major leap for one year. All of this was possible through your trust and partnership, so thank you for helping to make Pullman a school on the rise
This year, we will build on those successes with a renewed commitment to academic excellence and student growth. Our theme of “Making History Everyday,” reminds us that while we celebrate the Pullman community's historic legacy, we are focused on preparing our students for a future filled with possibility. New commitments include deepening our focus on literacy and math growth, expanding student leadership opportunities, and strengthening family engagement through workshops, volunteer opportunities, and consistent communication. We will also continue to ensure every student has multiple trusted adults they can rely on, fostering a safe, supportive, and restorative school culture.
At Pullman, we believe that the partnership between families and school is the foundation of student success. I invite you to share your ideas, concerns, or hopes for the year ahead—we grow stronger together when we collaborate as a community. Our dedicated and passionate staff remain the heart of our school, and their tireless commitment to nurturing each child’s academic and social-emotional development continues to inspire me every day.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for being an essential part of the Pullman family. I look forward to all we will accomplish this year—together.
With gratitude and commitment,
Principal Douglas Stalnos
